A look at the statistic makes it clear: The prices for oil and Gas will also increase further in future. With current prices around 100 US-Dollar per Barrel (159 Liter) crude oil, a new record mark has been reached, still the prognosis holds further higher prices as possible. The perpetual increase in the last years is due to the exploding natural oil consumption in the booming countries China and India. The upwards trend in industries and mobility is uninterrupted there, and thus the oil demand in these countries will increase further in the upcoming years.
Beside this, global events and developments caused and always cause new price hikes, among these are natural disasters: alone the hurricanes “Ivan” (2004) and “Katrina” (2005) paralyzed a large part of the oil production and -processing in Gulf of Mexico for weeks. Die general changes in the world climate will further be the cause for the accumulation of the extreme atmospheric events. However, speculators can also increase the oil price further. The gas price is coupled to the oil price and on a comparably high level. Now one already pays over 1800 Euro for the standard value in Gas, on average 80% more than in 2000.
Reason enough to ponder on alternative of oil and Gas, and to let the abovementioned aspects be introduced into building planning and amortization calculations.
